Cybertron is no longer habitable and the only alternative left for the Transformers is exile from their own planet and looking for a new one to take refuge in. But of course, the cruel Decepticons, led as always by the ruthless Megatron, will do everything possible to destroy the Autobots before they manage to escape. The story that this new chapter of the saga tells us in fact, both War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron are considered part of the official plot of the series by Hasbro itself , is simple, but not bad at all.
It has really memorable moments, with unexpected situations, reinterpretations of some arcs of the comics brilliantly carried out, and in general it never lowers the bar, managing to maintain levels of epic rarely seen in a video game to date.
While for someone outside of the series, it will probably be simply very entertaining, fans will find levels of fidelity, winks and details, that will make them enjoy it as young children.
Escape: Forced Overtime. If there is something that this game does really well, it is that, to be able to transport us to our childhood to re-enjoy as back then with the eternal battle that these transformable robots wage.
Fall of Cybertron takes inspiration from Transformers G1, the original series, and that is something that is noticeable and appreciated. You only have to look at the character designs themselves to realize that they have wanted to get away from the aesthetics imposed by the Michael Bay films. Speaking of the characters, they have all received exquisite treatment, are very recognizable and keep their personalities and ways of being intact.
Entering the playable terrain, we are faced with a third-person action game, with the peculiarity that we handle these huge robots with the ability to transform into vehicles. There is no coverage system as such, but we can change the arm with which we aim to be able to shoot from more or less safe places, we can make a basic melee attack and the scripts cinematic moments interspersed in the gameplay that are activated when reaching certain points are the order of the day, although they usually appear for the needs of the script and not only to look for free spectacularity with which to amaze us although the latter is more than achieved.
Not only does this game boast some amazing cut scenes. It has truly amazing voice acting as they managed to get many of the actors from the TV show to reprise their voice here. One thing that Transformers: Fall of Cybertron does incredibly well is bring Cybertron and the Transformers to life. War for Cybertron was already a good-looking game, but this one here just looks so much more detailed. The Transformers themselves look incredible, especially when they transform.
The game has quite varied locations with the lab of Shockwave being my favorite area in the game. There is a really impressive section where you can control Bruticus and the game view kind of changes so you see everything from his massive size. Even though is a game that is a few generations old at this point, it still looks fantastic. The gameplay on offer here is tighter than it was in War for Cybertron.
Each level has you playing as either an Autobot or a Decepticon with characters having their own chapters. The previous game would give you a choice of a handful of characters for each chapter, but this one does not.
This kind of works better as it keeps things more focused this time around. There is way more ammo laying around this time around which makes the gameplay way more fun. You can transform on the fly in Transformers: Fall of Cybertron which is fun, well all of them can except Grimlock who has to build up a rage meter to do so as he is so powerful when he is a T-Rex.
This game is built with enormous amount of action and it has very rare graphic visuals. There has been detail in every aspect of the game. So this game is worthy of playing.
